Neighborhood Alliance is an affiliate partner of Family Promise National. We offer families in crisis professional case management, including prevention/diversion, shelter, and stabilization/housing.
Family Promise National Organization
Family Promise is the leading national organization addressing family homelessness and at-risk families due to its unique, community-based model of creating solutions using existing resources. Our holistic approach provides prevention services before a family reaches a crisis, shelter when they have lost their homes, and stabilization programs once they are back in secure housing.
Family Promise at Neighborhood Alliance
Neighborhood Alliance recently signed an affiliate partnership to bring Family Promise back to Lorain County! You may remember that in 2018, when Family Promise of Lorain County closed its doors, Neighborhood Alliance took over the shelter beds that were once available through Family Promise and brought them into our services at the Haven Center Homeless Shelter.
While we continue to house homeless families in our shelter, Family Promise offers some additional services that we feel will help strengthen and support families experiencing homelessness in Lorain County.
Family Promise of Greater Lorain provides the following services:
- Shelter Diversion – Offering options to those seeking emergency shelter to stay in non-shelter settings while they work toward permanent housing.
- Homelessness Prevention – Helping to prevent episodes of homelessness by providing funding for car repairs, overdue utilities, or rent payments.
- Housing Retention – Following along with families after they are housed to help problem-solve issues that arise with their new home, their finances, and their personal lives.
Currently, no other providers in Lorain County have funding to offer these services, and we believe they are of vital importance in eliminating homelessness in our county.
