Volunteer opportunities at Neighborhood Alliance are split into 3 categories listed below. If any of the opportunities below seem to fit please fill out a volunteer interest form. A member of our team will reach out soon to help coordinate your volunteer experience.

Volunteer Opportunities

1. Friends of Neighborhood Alliance

Friends of Neighborhood Alliance is an “on-demand” group of volunteers ready to jump into action on an as-needed basis. You can collect supplies as your time allows and bring them to the office or 4x a year we plan to gather “Friends” for an afternoon/evening of assembling, stuffing, snacking, and socializing.

Volunteer tasks may include:

  • Organizing supply drives such as non-perishable food, backpacks for the homeless, diapers/wipes, and clothing basics for our shelter residents
  • Assembling kits for various programs such as kits for birthday kits for children or seniors, homeless outreach kits, literacy kits, and shelter welcome bags
  • Event support
  • Kitchen Helper – sort food donations, label packages

2. “One Day” Projects

The “One Day” project volunteer opportunity is ideal for corporations or business supporters who would like to do team-building experiences with their staff. Many of our projects can be customized by your project leader to fit the needs of your group. We can accommodate teams of various sizes and time frames.

3. Ongoing Opportunities

The Ongoing Opportunities volunteer options are ideal for someone looking to fill a more permanent volunteer role. These individuals may want to volunteer weekly or monthly in frontline programming to make a direct and consistent impact in the community.

Volunteer tasks may include:

  • Summer or Winter Break Camp activities (25-30 school-age kids)
  • General administrative duties, making copies, filing, etc.
  • Front Desk receptionist support (answer phones, greet people)
  • Kitchen volunteer (6-9 am) to Pack bags, Label boxes, Sort food donations
  • Provide a meal for the residents of the Haven Center Emergency Homeless Shelter.
  • Home Delivered Meals – Accompany our delivery drivers to assist with deliveries and socialize with our seniors

Disqualifications for Volunteer Service

Disqualifying Offenses for Employment, Volunteer Services, or Community Service

Neighborhood Alliance appreciates your interest in employment, providing volunteer services, and/or community service hours to our Agency. However, due to State and Federal regulations and Neighborhood Alliance Policy, you must undergo a criminal background investigation. If you have, at any time, been convicted of or plead guilty to a violation of any of the following sections of the revised code or similar offenses, we cannot utilize you in the capacity of providing services to our participants. We appreciate your interest in our Agency.
