Hello! My name is Lori Magyar and I am the Grants Manager at Neighborhood Alliance. I am also a Licensed and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and worked at EMH during my “first career” as a Clinical Dietitian. I have been with Neighborhood Alliance since February 2012.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Miami University and completed a Medical Nutrition Internship at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. I also hold a mini-MBA certificate from Miami University (2020). My interest in public health continues through the grants I write as I seek support to ensure Neighborhood Alliance can meet our mission of providing for critical needs in the community.
I have lived in Lorain County since 1997. My experience in Grant Writing started at Community Resource Services in Avon Lake, where I was a Client Services Coordinator and then Interim Director.
With now over 16 years of Grant Writing and Grants Management experience, I manage a Grants Program that has grown immensely over my years with Neighborhood Alliance. My current responsibilities are to plan and implement the grant program from the initial application through to approval and utilization including compliance monitoring and grant reporting. I research and identify potential grant support from government agencies, foundations, and corporations to help meet the financial and operational needs of the agency. The impact that grant funding has on the community we serve brings me great pride as I see what the team at Neighborhood Alliance is able to accomplish thanks in large part to this type of support.
