Bobby Toro and his family moved to Lorain from Puerto Rico in 1998. He graduated from Southview High School in Lorain. He has three Bachelor’s degrees: one in Spanish and another in Communications with a focus on communicating through technology from The Ohio State University. He also has a BA in Theology from Ebenezer Bible Institute.
Bobby joined Neighborhood Alliance in 2020 as a member of the PATH outreach team, which seeks out unsheltered individuals and families under bridges, in fields, abandoned buildings, etc. The PATH team provides referral services, food, toiletries, and bedding to individuals who will or cannot come into the shelter.
Bobby became the Director of the Haven Center Emergency Shelter in May 2022. While working in emergency services, he developed a passion for Neighborhood Alliance and its mission to empower the people of our community with the tools to create a better life for themselves.
Both of his children have been enrolled in the Home Visiting program for two years through Neighborhood Alliance.
As the Fund Development Manager for Neighborhood Alliance, Bobby works to cultivate meaningful relationships with a wide variety of internal and external contacts to support the success of all fundraising initiatives.
